Why Career Exploration Programmes are changing the way we recruit and grow talent.

Written by Kerlyn Kam

Exploring Careers with Clarity, Not Pressure

Stepping into the financial services industry isn’t just about numbers or having the "right" degree. It takes curiosity, resilience, people skills, and above all, the right mindset. That’s why we created the Career Exploration Programme (CEP): to give individuals a real chance to explore what a career in financial advisory is like before making a full commitment.

We look for values, not just credentials.

What Is a Career Exploration Programme?

Think of CEP as a guided trial run. Over 6 to 10 weeks, participants get hands-on exposure to the real work of a financial consultant. They join client appointments, pick up entrepreneurial skills, and build confidence in communication.

It’s built on our “More Than Financial Advisory” framework, which focuses on three key pillars:

  • Financial Wellness

  • Career Development

  • Personal Growth

You don’t need a finance degree or previous industry experience to join. Many participants come from different backgrounds, including education, engineering, and the arts. What matters most is having an open mind, a hunger to learn, and the courage to explore something new.

CEP isn’t about selling a dream. It’s about discovering if this path is right for you.

Why Career Exploration Works for Candidates and Employers

For candidates, CEP offers clarity. It helps them answer important questions like: Is this the kind of work I’d enjoy? Do my values align with this profession?

It’s not just about technical skills. It’s about discovering who they want to become.

For our organisation, CEP is a meaningful way to see someone in action. Interviews can only reveal so much. Through CEP, we get to observe a person’s attitude, integrity, and potential up close. When someone chooses to stay on after the programme, it’s a decision made with confidence and intention.

CEP lets us invest wisely in people who are aligned, not just interested.
