The Career That Gave Me Freedom, Fulfilment and the Lifestyle I Didn’t Know I Needed

Is a Career in Financial Consulting Worth the Hustle in Singapore?
When people ask me if being a Financial Consultant is “worth the hustle,” I get it, I used to wonder that too. But fast forward a few years, and here I am: waking up with more purpose, managing my energy better than I did in my twenties (okay, almost), and saying yes to trips like an all-expenses-paid getaway to Hokkaido.
Finding More Freedom, Time and Energy
This career with finexis has changed how I live, not just how I work. I used to spend too much time on things that weren’t productive. Now? Time is precious. I’m intentional with it, choosing to focus on what really matters, for my business and my life.
Energy-wise? Sure, I’m not 21 anymore (LOL), but I honestly feel younger than most people my age. Maybe it’s because I’m doing something that excites me. Purpose is a great energy booster.
Taking Ownership of My Time and Income
Having control over my schedule, income, and energy, means I get to decide how much I earn, how much I work, and whether those hours are worth it. The answer is often yes, because I choose them. It’s a level of ownership I didn’t expect, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

The Lifestyle Perks of a Financial Consulting Career
Let’s talk about that trip. Club Med Kiroro Peak, a gorgeous all-inclusive resort. Flights, food, snowboarding lessons, winter activities, all covered. I got the five-star treatment without spending a cent.
Even better? It wasn’t a typical tour group. I met other finexians, had real conversations, and made new friends in the same career. One dinner, someone tapped me on the shoulder and said, “I heard your calling eight years ago. It was really good, I never forgot it.” Took her eight years to say it, but hey, better late than never.
Making Time for Adventure
After the official itinerary, I thought, Why not stay longer? I road-tripped around Hokkaido, saw drift ice, went winter hiking, ice lake fishing, and snowboarding again. It was an adventure I’ll never forget.

Returning to Work Refreshed and Ready
Because I had already planned my meetings before the trip, I came home feeling energised, not overwhelmed. That balance, loving both your downtime and your work, is what this lifestyle allows.
Could Financial Consulting Be the Right Career for You?

You won’t know if this path is for you until you try. Like the cap shop owner once told me:
“You don’t wear a cap because you don’t have one.” Step in, try it on, you might find it fits.
And to my younger self...
Work a little harder.
You could’ve gotten here sooner.
