This story features Corina, a client of Goh Chien Yen.

Planning for Early Retirement

Back in 2013, just after getting married, I wanted to take on the responsibility of securing my family's future. I knew that settling down meant planning for long-term financial stability. My goal? To sustain a decent quality of life and retire by 55, not to stop working entirely, but to pursue my passions without financial pressure.

A Trusted Partner for the Journey

That’s when Chien Yen came into the picture, marking the start of my financial wellness journey. Having known her for years, I’d always admired her authenticity, proactive nature, and trustworthiness. These qualities made her the perfect partner for this critical step in planning my future.

Building the Foundation

In the early years, I was navigating a sales career with an unpredictable income. Chien Yen listened to my concerns, helping me balance flexibility with protection. We started with life and hospital insurance and gradually expanded into other areas. She made sure I understood the importance of each plan and guided me in adopting a long-term mindset.

Turning Setbacks into Stepping Stones

In 2019, I ventured into a franchise business. Unfortunately, the pandemic forced me to exit within a year, resetting my finances. Thankfully, I hadn’t encashed my plans. Chien Yen’s guidance provided a safety net during this tough period.

Even more remarkably, she went beyond her role as a financial consultant. Together with Team GGO, she connected me with opportunities within her network. Within two months, I secured a new role, rebuilding my career and accelerating my financial recovery.

From Challenges to Milestones

Today, I’m well on my way to accumulating passive income before 40, a milestone I once thought distant. Through consistency, long-term investments, and a diversified portfolio, I’ve not only reduced financial risks but also halved my workload while doubling my income.

Looking Back, Moving Forward

Looking back, while the franchise business lengthened my journey, it was a valuable life lesson. Working with Chien Yen has helped me turn setbacks into stepping stones, achieve financial freedom, and get closer to my dream of retiring early. For anyone starting this journey: be open, trust the process, and surround yourself with the right people.
